This policy explains how mcconnell.photography uses cookies and similar browser technologies. It should be read with the privacy policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage, can remember a choice without necessarily using a cookie. Some technologies are necessary for a website to work; others measure how people use it.
How this site uses them
This website does not use advertising, retargeting or social-media tracking cookies. Google Analytics is the only optional tracking service. Analytics cookies are non-essential and must be stored only after consent. Refusing analytics does not prevent you from using the website.

Google Analytics cookies
When Google Analytics 4 is enabled with consent, it may collect a pseudonymous browser identifier, pages visited, session information, approximate location, device and browser details, referral source and interactions with the site. I use the resulting reports to understand site performance and improve the website. I do not use advertising cookies or personalised advertising on this site.

Cookie duration can be shortened by browser restrictions or site configuration. Google may process Analytics information outside the UK using its applicable safeguards. More information is available in Google’s GA4 cookie documentation.
Your choices
The Google tag loads with Consent Mode defaults set to denied. Before consent, Google may receive cookieless consent and basic measurement signals, but Analytics does not read or write analytics cookies. Analytics storage is granted only after you accept. You can then change your choice at any time using Cookie settings.
Optional Analytics should not use analytics storage unless you consent. You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings, block cookies, or use browser privacy controls. Blocking essential storage may cause the notice to reappear, but the main website should continue to work.
If you withdraw consent, optional Analytics storage should stop from that point. Previously collected information may remain in aggregated reports or be retained until it expires under the Analytics retention settings.
