What to expect
A relaxed session with practical guidance.
I’m Charlotte, a photographer based in Llandrindod Wells, Mid Wales. I offer engagement, couples and pre-wedding photography, along with discreet coverage for surprise proposals.
Most sessions last around 60 minutes. We’ll usually walk a short route or use a few spots close together, with time to stop for photographs along the way.
I’ll suggest where the light works well and give you simple prompts. You won’t need to hold a series of complicated poses. If something feels uncomfortable, we’ll change it.
Before booking, let me know about any access needs or how far you’re comfortable walking. An outdoor session doesn’t need to involve a long hike.

A chance to get used to being photographed before your wedding. It can help you feel more comfortable with direction and understand what portraits on the day will involve.

Choose somewhere your partner will feel comfortable, with enough room for me to photograph from a distance. If it’s a private venue, check whether permission is needed.

The Elan Valley
Reservoir views and woodland offer different backgrounds within the same area. We’ll choose a manageable route and consider access, weather and how busy the location is likely to be.
Llandrindod Wells and Powys
A familiar walk, a local outdoor spot or somewhere meaningful to you can work well. You don’t need a dramatic backdrop for natural photographs together.
Brecon and Bannau Brycheiniog
If you’d like open scenery, we can discuss suitable locations around Brecon and Bannau Brycheiniog. Tell me how much walking you want to do so the plan is realistic.
Elsewhere in Wales
I welcome enquiries for North Wales, Cardiff and South Wales, as well as Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire in West Wales. Send your preferred location so I can confirm availability and travel costs.

Engagement sessions start from £200. Tell me your preferred location and the type of session you want so I can confirm the cost, including any travel or additional proposal planning.
How long does a session last?
Most sessions last around 60 minutes. That allows time to get comfortable and use a few nearby spots without rushing. We’ll confirm the arrangements when booking.
Do we need to be engaged?
No. Couples sessions are also suitable for anniversaries or simply having some photographs together. You don’t need wedding plans to book.
What is the difference between an engagement and a pre-wedding shoot?
The sessions are similar. An engagement shoot often celebrates getting engaged; a pre-wedding shoot usually helps you get comfortable with your photographer before the wedding. We can plan your session around either purpose.
Can you photograph a surprise proposal?
Yes. We agree the location, timing and how to recognise each other beforehand, so I can work discreetly. Once you’ve proposed, we can take some relaxed photographs together.
What should we wear?
Choose comfortable clothes that you feel good in, with colours that work together. Bring footwear suited to the route and a warm layer for outdoor locations. You don’t need matching outfits.
What happens if it rains?
We’ll discuss the forecast and the options for your location. A little rain may be manageable, but if conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, we’ll agree a different plan.
Can we bring our dog?
Usually, yes. Mention your dog when enquiring so we can choose a suitable location, check access restrictions and plan around them.
Do you travel outside Mid Wales?
Yes. I welcome enquiries across Wales, including North, South and West Wales. Send your preferred location and date so I can confirm availability and travel costs.
